About The Dairy, Eckington

The Dairy, Eckington is a beautifully converted dairy which sleeps two people.  It's set within magical gardens, in a quiet village and surrounded by lovely countryside.

You enter via a stable door to the kitchen, brimming with good kit and with plenty of room for preparing and cooking.  A generous welcome hamper will be waiting for you with all the basics plus some delicious extras.  Through into the sitting room with French windows leading out into a private south facing garden.

Upstairs, the bedroom has a super-kingsize bed which can be converted into a twin.  There is an ensuite shower room and large luxury bath.

You’re surrounded by an acre of informal garden, created by James and his partner Mike. It is laid out as a series of ‘rooms’ with spaces for sitting and having a picnic or just a drink – you’re encouraged to stay as long as you like.  Wildlife is plentiful and includes bats, hedgehogs, frogs, toads and many birds and butterflies – the whole garden is organic, including the veg patch. You’ll find shade under mature trees, summer houses for a glass of wine and a pond for gazing at dragonflies and newts.

Walkers can tackle Bredon Hill or The Malverns, which are on the doorstep; cyclists can discover the pretty yellow-stone villages round the hill or go further into the Cotswolds. There are two pubs within a five-minute walk of the property and Eckington Manor in the village has a cookery school and good restaurant.  On sunny days you can fire up the barbecue and eat in the garden; if the weather turns foul you can cosy up indoors by the wood-burner with extra cushions and blankets – open the wine and watch films or box sets.

The Dairy, Eckington is the perfect place to relax and explore the beautiful countryside.   We are within easy reach of several National Trust properties, including the stunning gardens of Hidcote and Snowshill.  Stratford upon Avon and Cheltenham are our nearest major towns and both within easy reach.

The Dairy, Eckington is attached to our home, Willow Pond, a traditional 16th Century black and white cottage, and located within an acre of garden.

This is a hidden gem of a place.  The cottage is extremly well appointed - a holiday let like no other.  James and Mike are wonderful host - so generous with their time.  Nothing was too much trouble.  We were truly sad to leave.  Until next time.  Thank you.

We've had the most wonderful time staying here at The Dairy.  It has to be the best holiday cottage we've stayed in by far - and we've stayed in a few.

This is our fourth stay at The Dairy.  We just love it here!  The tranquil setting, the idyllic gardens and the exceptional design all contribute to The Dairy being high on our list for regular visits.  Thanks to James and Mike for looking after us so well – all the beautiful flowers from the garden and the amazing welcome hamper.  We have already booked to come back next year!

Simply idyllic!  So comfortable (I have never slept so well); The garden's are beautiful in a very naturalistic way.  Totally inspiring.  A friendly village too!  Everyone kept saying hello.  We enjoyed eating in both pubs and walking up the hill and round by the river.  A terrific spot.  We shall be back!!  J&G, Chester

We are two couples from Germany staying in April Cottage.  We adore it here.  It's ultra stylish and so comfortable.  Its all been done with impeccable taste.  James was wonderful in making sure we had everything we needed.  I would live here!  Just wonderful.
